New Part in the City

Poble Sec is a district that was newly developed after World War I. It used to be an industrial area outside the center of the old city, but now turns out to be a great place for entertainment and culture.

In Beijng, there is a young district called Chaoyang, which in Chinese means "sun in the dawn". It is outside the third ring of the city(Beijing has got five rings now), and used to be large tracks of farmland. But now it has become a new center for entertainment and culture. People living there are mostly young, and from many other places of the country. They enjoy a new pattern of city life such as various night life and they have brought a lot of energy and vitality to the city. There are many new residencial buildings in the district and they are all designs that greatly consider the requirenments of young people, so they are energetic and fresh both by looks and inside. For example, Modern MOMA by Steven Holl. And for the culture building, CCTV building by Koolhaas.
